Umm Quais
Another INSIDER‘S PETRA favorite spot located in the extreme north-west of Jordan. This town is situated on a hill-top near the country’s border. The area is green and lovely and overlooks the Sea of Tiberias (Sea of Galilee; fed mainly by the Jordan River). There are over 2,000 year-old ancient Roman ruins at the site that are partially restored. In ancient times the town was called ‘Gadara’. The panoramic views at Umm Quais are inspiring and beautiful.
